As an international school, Soochow Foreign Language School advocates “Inclusive Holistic” education. Therefore, embedded on its qualified resources, SCFLS offers an international senior high school bridging class to the students for free, so as to release the anxiety of university progression of both students and teachers. 本課程的重點是培養(yǎng)學(xué)生語言習(xí)得能力和英語聽說能力。其著重強調(diào)口頭交流，聽力理解和詞匯的擴充。聽說練習(xí)也能提升學(xué)生對跨文化的理解，讓學(xué)生可以在不同的情境下，以及出于不同的交際目的，靈活使用自己所學(xué)的知識。從而可以將他們培養(yǎng)成為積極進取，富有同情心，且有著中國靈魂和國際情懷的終身學(xué)習(xí)者。為進入高中國際課程學(xué)科的全英文教學(xué)打下基礎(chǔ)，同時有利于將來的托福雅思扥英語標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化考試。

This course focuses on cultivating students’ abilities in language acquisition, English listening and speaking, emphasizing oral communication, listening comprehension and vocabulary. The practices in listening and speaking can improve students’ intercultural understanding, thus allowing students to apply their acquired knowledge flexibly under different contexts and for different communicative purposes. Therefore, they could develop into active, compassionate lifelong learners with both Chinese identity and international mindedness. On the other, a solid foundation can be laid for better adapting to the international senior high school courses, and for their TOEFL or IELTS examinations.

本課程的重點是語言習(xí)得和英語讀寫能力的發(fā)展。它的目標(biāo)是培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的跨文化理解,讓學(xué)生理解并在不同環(huán)境中，不同目的下使用語言,鼓勵學(xué)生對來自其他文化的人們不同觀點的認(rèn)識和欣賞,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生對于語言在其他領(lǐng)域中運用的意識,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生對語言和文化之間關(guān)系的認(rèn)識,通過使用外語為學(xué)生提供進一步學(xué)習(xí)、工作和休閑的基礎(chǔ)，通過掌握外語知識為學(xué)生提供享受、創(chuàng)造和智力激勵的機會。

This course focuses on cultivating students’ abilities in language acquisition, English reading and writing. It aims at developing students’ intercultural understanding, and enabling students to understand and use language in different context. Students are encouraged to understand and appreciate people’s opinions of different cultures, so as to cultivate their sense of applying language to other areas, and to understand the relationship between language and culture. Through using language for further learning, work and leisure, students could have more opportunities for enjoying, creating and inspiring. 

本課程框架通過調(diào)查、技術(shù)的有效使用和抽象推理探索了六個內(nèi)容領(lǐng)域：數(shù)字、代數(shù)、幾何、測量、處理數(shù)據(jù)和解決問題。

This course explores six areas including number, algebra, geometry, measurement, data analysis, problem solving through inquiry, use of technology and proof. 

前五個內(nèi)容領(lǐng)域都以解決問題為基礎(chǔ)，這為數(shù)學(xué)技能的應(yīng)用提供了一個框架。心理策略也是數(shù)字內(nèi)容的重要組成部分。本課程以原理、模式、系統(tǒng)、功能及關(guān)系為重點。同時，當(dāng)學(xué)生解決多步驟問題時，他們也將進行數(shù)學(xué)推理和思維交流。因此學(xué)生能夠運用數(shù)學(xué)知識，從而全面了解數(shù)學(xué)。強調(diào)對國際高中課程所需的初中數(shù)學(xué)開展查漏補缺，同時銜接國際高中數(shù)學(xué)。

The first five areas are based on solving problems, which provides a framework for the application of Maths skills. Psychological strategy is also an important component of numbers. This course focuses on principle, mode, system, function and relation. Meanwhile, the students will have Maths deduction and communication in thinking while solving problems. Therefore, students could apply the knowledge to understand Maths comprehensively. It emphasizes to learn about the strengths and weaknesses of what the students have already learned, so that they could have a smooth transition to the Maths class in international senior high school. 

 ATL 是貫穿IB教學(xué)環(huán)境的成熟的策略、技能和態(tài)度。這些方法也與培養(yǎng)具有國際意識的學(xué)生密不可分，這是所有國際文憑項目的核心目標(biāo)。它支持IB的信念，即對學(xué)生的教育產(chǎn)生巨大影響的不僅僅是你學(xué)到的東西，也是你終身學(xué)習(xí)的方式。

ATL is the IB continuum regarding its mature strategy, skill and attitude. These approaches are closely related to the cultivation of students’ international mindedness, the core of all IB programmes. It supports IB mission, that is, not only could what you’ve learned have a great impact on students’ education, but also your approaches to learning.

  拓展課程/活動  

戲劇、鋼琴、全球視野、陶藝、英文配音、籃球/羽毛球等，學(xué)生五選一，拓展課程和活動都放在晚間進行，另行組織。

Activities: Drama, Piano, Global Perspectives, Pottery, Dubbing, Basketball/Badminton, etc. The students could choose one activity from the above, and all activities will held separately during the evenings.
