本輪探究超學(xué)科主題——世界如何運作
Transdisciplinary theme——How the world works
“世界如何運作”這個單元的學(xué)習(xí)需要孩子探究自然界以及自然規(guī)律、自然界(物質(zhì)的和生物)的和人類社會的互動、人類如何利用他們對科學(xué)原理的理解以及科技進(jìn)步對社會和環(huán)境的影響。本輪探究圍繞“建筑的設(shè)計受環(huán)境和文化的影響”這一中心思想展開,在“形式、連系、變化”重要概念的驅(qū)動下,依據(jù)3條線索依次展開了連續(xù)5周的探究活動!
How the world works is an inquiry into the natural world and its laws; the interaction between the natural world (physical and biological) and human societies; how humans use their understanding of scientific principles; the impact of scientific and technological advances on society and on the environment. The central idea of this unit is “The design and structure of architecture is influenced by environment and culture.”Driven by the key concepts “Form, Connection, Change”, students carry out different learning activities based on three lines of inquiry in 5 weeks.

The causes that influence the design of architecture
一年級的孩子雖然識字不多,但是他們都是天生的探究者,對周圍的事物充滿好奇。他們充分利用了各種圖形、符號畫出了自己對建筑的理解,通過小組合作的形式積累認(rèn)知,了解到了自然、文化都會對建筑的設(shè)計產(chǎn)生影響。
As Year 1 students, their reading and writing abilities may be limited but they’re natural inquirers who are curious about everything around them. They make good use of shapes and drawings to express architectures they know and develop their understanding that the design of architecture is influenced by both natural and cultural causes.
建筑物和當(dāng)?shù)丨h(huán)境的關(guān)系
The relationship between the architecture and local environment
當(dāng)孩子們對建筑物有了初步的了解之后,開始了深入探究之旅。大家根據(jù)自己的興趣參與到不同的探究主題,在圖文并茂的學(xué)習(xí)中,孩子們一步一個腳印,懂得了不同的環(huán)境都會對建筑形態(tài)造成影響,并且和自己的小伙伴合作利用圖片的形式展現(xiàn)給大家學(xué)到的知識。
After learning the different forms of architecture, students probe deep into the relationship between architecture and environment. They take part into different groups based on their interests and strength, and present their discovery to others individually and collectively.
建筑風(fēng)格反映當(dāng)?shù)匚幕?/strong>
The style of architecture reflects local culture.
在探究文化對建筑風(fēng)格的影響時,通過觀看視頻、搜集材料、外出參觀等形式,老師與孩子們一同穿越時空,領(lǐng)略了從遠(yuǎn)古至今的各種建筑風(fēng)格,認(rèn)識到了多姿多彩的世界文化。通過對建筑文化的理解與感受,培養(yǎng)了學(xué)生的多元文化意識,使他們逐步成長為具有國際情懷的世界公民。
When inquiry into cultural influence on architecture, students and teachers discover the variety and colorful culture that architecture reflects through time and space. By understanding and experiencing the diversity of architecture, students develop their intercultural awareness and become a world citizen with international mindedness.

9月26日,迎著明媚的陽光,孩子們走出教室,背上書包來到了“華誼兄弟電影世界”。
On 26, Sep, students took a field trip to Huayi Brothers Film World.
孩子們實地參觀了不同時代、不同風(fēng)格的建筑,還觀看了文化內(nèi)涵豐富的各類演出,對建筑和環(huán)境的關(guān)系也有了更深刻的認(rèn)識。
They visited different types of architecture and watched brilliant performances.
在外出探究參觀時,孩子們能自發(fā)地采取行動,做到文明有序參觀,理解和尊重各類建筑所代表的文化,展現(xiàn)出了積極探究、胸襟開闊的IB學(xué)習(xí)者風(fēng)采。
Students can follow the rules and respect the culture of architecture during the tour, representing the attributes of an IB learner at all time.
