為踐行提升中國學(xué)生國際化視野與能力，傳揚中國傳統(tǒng)文化的神圣使命，同時也為進(jìn)一步營造我校英語學(xué)習(xí)氛圍，蘇城外初中部英語組承辦了本屆地球村英語演講活動，56位來自初中部的同學(xué)參加了此次比賽。

In order to improve Chinese students’ international vision and abilities, expand Chinese traditional culture and create an English learning environment in our school, junior middle school of SCFLS undertook the competition for students. There were 56 junior middle school students taking part in the activity.

What is freedom? 

對此,同學(xué)們都有著自己的獨特理解。有的認(rèn)為，自由是能夠按照自己的需要和意愿行事；有的認(rèn)為隨意發(fā)表自己的言論即是“自由”。不能說所有的理解都正確，但也都真真實實地反映了同學(xué)們豐富的想象力和深刻的認(rèn)識能力。

What is freedom? Contestants defined freedom with their unique understandings. Some of them said freedom means doing things at their will and feeling free to express themselves. Maybe the ideas are not perfect, but they showed their excellent imagination and cognitive abilities.

參賽選手們個個都精神飽滿，談吐自如，他們用流暢的英語表達(dá)了自己對“自由”的看法，贏得了評委的連連稱贊。

The theme of the competition is “Freedom”. Contestants were all full of spirit. They stated their opinions in fluent English, winning applause and praise from the judges. 

當(dāng)然這與同學(xué)們的努力密不可分。就在比賽前的一分鐘，同學(xué)們?nèi)栽谡J(rèn)認(rèn)真真地為演講比賽做著最后的準(zhǔn)備，力求每一句話都盡善盡美，每一個動作都恰到好處。

 Their excellent performances were due to their continuous hard work. The contestants kept preparing for their speeches until the last minute before the speech. Minor from the intonation to the gestures, they all aimed for perfection.

來自七年級六班的胡可涵同學(xué)以標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的發(fā)音，抑揚頓挫的語調(diào)，流利的口語從比賽中脫穎而出，贏得了評委的一致好評；來自八年級二班的胡宇晨同學(xué)以純正的美式發(fā)音征服了在場的每一位評委。

Coco Hu from Holistic Class 6, Year 7 stood out in the selection with her fluency and beautiful intonation, which received bursts of applause from the judges. The pure American pronunciation from Lavender Hu who is from Inclusive Class2,Year 8.

同學(xué)們出色的表現(xiàn)充分體現(xiàn)了我校的英語特色教學(xué)成果，在蘇城外大家庭里，只要肯努力，不怕不發(fā)光。

Surprises continued in the competition site and the audience praised continuously. It embodied English characteristic teaching results. We believe you can shine no matter what you are made of.

令人期待的比賽結(jié)果終于公布啦！

8個一等獎，21個二等獎，這樣的成績讓同學(xué)老師們甚為欣喜！

The anticipated result of the game has been announced. It was fruitful and brilliant.It’s amazing to know there were 8 first prizes and 21 second prizes.

在順利晉級到下一輪復(fù)賽之際，讓我們把最美好的祝愿帶給這些勤奮好學(xué)的孩子們吧！

These students have successfully proceeded to the next round, and the stars of hope are going to sparkle in the night sky. May these diligent children all good!
