蘇城外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)校PYP小學(xué)師生們追捧新物。

世界五大洲風(fēng)土人情，

即大洋洲、非洲 、歐洲、美洲 、亞洲。

Recently, this “boarding card” received great popularity by the PYP students in Soochow Foreign Language School. With this card you can tour the five continents of the world at school.

以世界為教材，以問(wèn)題為導(dǎo)入，以概念為驅(qū)動(dòng)，以探究為主要學(xué)習(xí)方式，UOI超學(xué)科主題探究課程是蘇城外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)校的特色課程之一。

而這張“登機(jī)卡”的設(shè)計(jì)者正是

 SCFLS-PYP小學(xué)三（12）國(guó)際班師生們 

經(jīng)過(guò)6周的探究，他們?yōu)樾ｎI(lǐng)導(dǎo)和協(xié)調(diào)員

展示了一場(chǎng)別樣的UOI結(jié)題展

Developed in local and global contexts, tuned in by questions, driven by concepts and based on inquiry are the main approaches to learning in UOI of Soochow Foreign Language School.This boarding card was co-designed by the students and teachers of Class 12 Year 3. After a six-week inquiry, they presented an amazing UOI exhibition to the school leaders.

什么是旅行？人們?nèi)绾温眯校咳藗優(yōu)槭裁绰眯?？小至一次周末出游，大到航海時(shí)代人類對(duì)地球大陸的探索。在老師們的引導(dǎo)下，孩子們圍繞“旅行”進(jìn)行了全方位的學(xué)習(xí)。What is a journey? How do we travel? Why do people travel? From a trip in the weekend with family, to the Age of Discovery in history, students carried out the inquiry around "traveling".

孩子們跟隨老師一起轉(zhuǎn)變觀念，不是“老師要我學(xué)什么”，而是“我從現(xiàn)有材料中可以學(xué)到什么”、“我還可以自己去搜集哪些信息”等角度出發(fā)進(jìn)行探究學(xué)習(xí)。

Students’ mindset has changed from “Teacher wants me to to learn” to “What can I learn and where can I get more information”. 

孩子們的海報(bào)內(nèi)容豐富、圖文并茂，并且，都是孩子們的純手工打造，他們自己收集材料、排版設(shè)計(jì)、寫文字、貼圖片……讓人不由驚嘆他們的無(wú)限潛力。

Their hand made posters are rich in contents, words and pictures.

結(jié)題展以“環(huán)球旅行”為主題，由每個(gè)小組從七大洲的地域風(fēng)貌、人文美食、文化習(xí)俗等方面進(jìn)行輪流介紹，并用中英文做演講報(bào)告。

The exhibition was a "World Travel" with each group taking the audience to a continent and introducing the food, scenery and culture in Chinese and English.

演講稿的內(nèi)容均由孩子們?cè)瓌?chuàng)，他們從老師提供的材料中抽取信息，并且回家利用網(wǎng)絡(luò)資源為講稿作補(bǔ)充，在一遍遍的打磨修改中讓內(nèi)容更加具體、明確。同時(shí)，每個(gè)小組都創(chuàng)設(shè)了互動(dòng)環(huán)節(jié)。

The speeches were written by students, they gathered information in the class and used online resources to add more information at home.

孩子們用心展示，老師們認(rèn)真聆聽(tīng)。

They also designed small activities to engage the audience such as African dancing, Australian dot painting, Himalayan monster and etc.

總校長(zhǎng)李春雷先生對(duì)本次UOI探究活動(dòng)表示高度認(rèn)可，并從探究的魅力、全納的魅力和語(yǔ)言的魅力三方面進(jìn)行了總結(jié)講話。

General principal Mr. David Li spoke highly of the exhibition and commended the beauty of inquiry, inclusion and language through out this activity.

在蘇城外，每一單元的UOI探究都會(huì)有一份報(bào)告單，家長(zhǎng)們也參與其中，進(jìn)行了反饋。

At the end of every UOI, Soochow Foreign Language School also provides a report with parents comments to get them involved.
